Corporate Contributions

In addition to being responsible in our business activities, MIC is actively involved in giving back to the communities where we do business. We believe in supporting arts and culture through museums and world-class institutions such as Carnegie Hall and the American Museum of Natural History. We also support the strengthening of relations between Japan and the U.S. through various means, including major contributions to Japanese programming at the Lincoln Center Summer Festival.

MIC has taken the lead in garnering support from the Japanese business community in New York City for the New York Botanical Garden's flower and cultural exhibition Kiku, The Art of the Japanese Chrysanthemum. To read more about Kiku, please click here.

Separate from MIC's corporate contributions program, the Mitsubishi International Corporation Foundation has contributed over three million dollars to charitable causes throughout the Americas since 1992. Read more about the MC Foundation for the Americas.

Matching Gifts

MIC also matches employee gifts to non-profits, two dollars for every dollar, through our Matching Gifts Program, which matches gifts of at least $25 by full-time employees to any 501(c)(3), except to political organizations or for religious purposes. This program, which has an annual maximum of $1,000 per employee, is intended to encourage public service among staff by providing a way for them to respond to community need. And it allows our employees to have a say in where some of MIC's charitable dollars are spent, thus enhancing their involvement in the company's efforts to be a good corporate citizen.

Corporate Drives

Mitsubishi International Corporation's New York City headquarters also implements on an on-going basis numerous company-wide collection drives.

Community Involvement

Employees are encouraged to take part in a range of volunteer activities. They can apply, for example, to participate - all program expenses paid - in field research being conducted by scientists working on environmental projects around the globe under the auspices of non-profit Earthwatch Institute. At the executive level, our CEO serves as Co-Chair of Carnegie Hall's Corporate Fund and we have executive participation on the Earthwatch Corporate Advisory Council and the Board of Sanctuary for Families (which works to end violence against all women and their children). These are just a few of several commitments that typify the community involvement of our executives, in our New York headquarters and our network of U.S. offices.
